David Tsubouchi, Board of Advisor for CGTA & Former Minister

Special thanks to one of Connecting GTA’s Advisors & Former Minister, David Tsubouchi for participating at CGTA’s Virtual Conference & Expo 202 and speaking on the topic of “Networking”.

David Tsubouchi is an author and former politician, regulator and Integrity Commissioner. Mr. Tsubouchi holds a B.A. from York University, a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, an LL.D. from Assumption University in Windsor, a D.S.Litt. from Huntington University and C.Dir. from McMaster University..

David Tsubouchi is the first Japanese Canadian to be elected to office in Canada and has served as the MPP for Markham for two terms and has held cabinet posts in the Ontario Legislature including Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations, Solicitor General, Chair of Management Board and Minister of Culture. Prior to serving in the Ontario Legislature, Mr. Tsubouchi served as a Councillor for the Town of Markham for two terms.

Mr. Tsubouchi currently sits on the board of directors for OMERS Administration Corporation and Tarion. He has served as the Honorary Consul General for Mongolia (Toronto). He has served on many boards of directors. He was also appointed as the Co-Chair of the Canada Vietnam Business Council by the Republic of Vietnam.

Mr. Tsubouchi, as the campaign chair, has raised millions of dollars for non-profit organizations and institutions including Seneca College, George Brown College and the Rising Sun Campaign to assist the victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan.

Mr. Tsubouchi has received numerous awards and honors including the Queen’s Diamond and Golden Jubilee Medals, NAAAP 100 Award, The Bruce Bryden Award (York University), The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, The Award of Merit From the Japanese Canadian Community and the Canadian Horse Racing Industry Award of Recognition.

David Tsubouchi has been an international key note speaker in many countries including Dubai, Macau, China, Japan, Canada and the United States on casino development, infrastructure, arts and culture, trade, politics and business development.

Dr. Monica Mitri, Optical Lounge

Dr. Monica Mitri received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto and continued her studies at the University of Waterloo graduating with honours in Doctor of Optometry.

She has been actively involved in community service, such as the Special Olympics Opening Eyes to provide eye exam screening for participating athletes. She has special interest in contact lenses, in addition to providing full comprehensive eye exams to meet the unique needs of patients.

Dr. Monica Mitri is dedicated to serving you and your family and looks forward to caring for your vision and eye health needs. When she is not taking her care of your eye health she enjoys spending her time hiking with her dog, and taking in the scenes with photography.

Angela Baltkois, CEO, Big Rig Wraps

Angela Baltkois is a Brand Strategist with over 20 years of sales and marketing experience. She is the former owner of an award-winning internet marketing company (CBS Group) that she founded in 1999 when it was a struggle to convince companies to embrace the internet and develop a web site. Through many years of hard work and tenacity, Angela pushed her web company to be one of the top web companies in the Durham Region and Greater Toronto area.

While working in the digital industry, Angela learned that Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising was the perfect tool to increase brand awareness and push traffic to web sites and social media. In 2013, Angela decided to embark on a new adventure and sold CBS Group to explore opportunities in the growing OOH market with a new company, Big Rig Wraps Transport Truck Advertising (www.bigrigwraps.ca).

Angela holds a Durham College diploma in Web Programming and Internet Marketing. She also has taken undergraduate business marketing programs at the University of Western Ontario. In addition to her many years of experience assisting clients with online and offline marketing, Angela also ran a successful MLM direct sales business with over 10,000 customers worldwide. She recruited and trained hundreds of sales representatives and helped them to obtain full time incomes working from home.
