Immigrating to Canada in the nineteen nineties, Kris Sivaguru, a Mechanical Engineering student from Sri Lanka faced numerous challenges in establishing life in Canada. Just like many others in the community, Kris started working at restaurants and factories in Montreal. After moving to Toronto in 1994, he started working as a janitorial worker at nights while studying Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing at Centennial College. When you are passionate about something you do, you then do an excellent job and others notice your work. One of Kris’s customers noticed his hardworking efforts and offered Kris to clean his facility. This was the stepping stone for the cleaning business Kris started. Determined to make his dream come true, Kris founded Shinol Inc. and became a successful entrepreneur. He established the business in a short period of time and has employed over 200 workers from all over the Greater Toronto Area. As the business grew, Shinol Inc. was formed into 3 groups of companies. Shinol Cleaning has become a trusted name in the Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional cleaning services since 1995. Shinol Maintenance was established to be a dependable and qualified maintenance company to handle most facility renovation services. Shinol Workforce was established as a result of extensive customer’s demand for staffing solutions. Kris has since risen to be a very well-respected business leader in the community. He has been constantly working towards the growth and development of the company in order to achieve recognition, and be one of the industrial leaders in the field of janitorial services. He brings over 18 years experience in managing daily housekeeping/cleaning, grounds-keeping, waste management, maintenance and health & safety.
