Bio

At a very young age, Mathew John was extremely passionate about customizing cars as a hobby. That hobby later grew into a career when he opened his own body shop at the age of 24. With an aspiring background in law enforcement, at age 18 Mathew completed his general military training. During his work as a municipal law enforcement officer, Mathew developed a proficient understanding of the court system and realized that many individuals just accept a ticket without really understanding their rights. As Mathew became more knowledgeable about the automotive trade, he realized that there was a need to help the sport compact industry grow. In order for this to happen, sport compact owners, or “tuners”, needed to better understand what they could and could not do to their cars. However, at that time, no one was available to offer this much needed information. Compelled to fill this niche, Mathew used his knowledge regarding the law and vehicle modifications to create “automotive law” in order to educate tuners about the dos and don’ts of modifications. Mathew John believes that education should come first. The former CEO and creator of national anti-street racing program PACER (Police and Community Educating Racers), Mathew has the expertise and resources to deliver clear information about the necessity of vehicle modifications complying with the law. Appearing on over 30 half-hour television shows and sharing his knowledge about vehicle modifications, Mathew has also worked closely with the Vancouver Police Department and other various law enforcement agencies across Canada to educate youths about dangers of illegal street racing and legal modifications.

Description

The P.A.C.E.R. (Police and Community Educating Racers) Program was first launched in 2001. This non-profit organization works with Canada’s Police

and other community partners to raise awareness on illegal street racing, illegal modifications and unsafe driving behavior.

P.A.C.E.R. has hosted numerous anti street racing events and programs at the track, within schools, malls and within the community to educate car enthusiasts on the dangers of speeding on the streets. The program was a huge success reaching thousands of people across Canada!

With the increase in car enthusiasts engaging in street racing, illegal modifications, and street racing related accidents, the PACER Program is BACK.

Not only is street racing putting others at risk, it is also ILLEGAL and will cost you your car, your license and potentially your life or someone else's.

The P.A.C.E.R. Program aims to educate the public about safe driving and alternatives to street racing. It also focuses on safe modifications of vehicles and looks to open the lines of communication between car enthusiasts and the police.
