As Executive Director of the Ignite Durham Learning Foundation, she leads initiatives to remove financial barriers and create equitable opportunities for students within the Durham District School Board. In her role as Vice-President of the Board of Directors at Durham Children’s Aid Society, Stacey brings her passion for racial equity and cultural competency to the forefront, working to ensure that services are inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of the community. The Ignite Durham Learning Foundation (IDLF) is a registered charitable organization based in Durham Region, Ontario, dedicated to removing financial barriers and creating equitable opportunities for students within the Durham. Established in 2018, IDLF works directly with school staff to support students facing financial challenges, providing essentials such as food, clothing, school supplies, and access to extracurricular activities. ​
IDLF's mission is to empower students to achieve academic and personal success by addressing poverty-related stress and strengthening the community. Through various funding pillars, the foundation offers support in areas including nutrition, transportation, and post-secondary education pathways and so much more. IDLF exists so that children and youth can fully participate in their education journey!
